Commercial Finance Manager 0707

Our client, a new and innovative record label and music publisher, is seeking an ambitious Commercial Finance Manager to bring their financial management acuity to this rapidly expanding business.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Conducting financial management and internal reporting.

• Providing oversight to monthly management accounts, to include detailed variance analysis.

• Assisting with the preparation of monthly Board packs and reporting.

• Undertaking external reporting on a monthly and quarterly basis to external investors.

• Fielding external reporting needs for covenant reporting, new catalogue acquisition reporting, handling independent valuations, and debt documentation.

• Supporting external accountants with statutory accounts preparation, including UK & US tax reporting.

• Preparing quarterly forecast with detailed variance analysis for the forecast against the budget.

• Preparing the annual budget.

• Contributing to the company’s ability of current systems to scale with the pace of business growth.

• Collaborating with internal teams and external accountants to optimise processes.

• Contributing to ad hoc projects in conjunction with the Head of Operations and CFO.  

Requirements:

• Experience in the music industry (label or publishing) is essential.

• Strong background in financial management, accounting, and forecasting.

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or the equivalent in experience.

• Proven track record with reviewing and managing the month-end function.

• Some experience or exposure to planning, budgeting, FP&A forecasting methods is desirable.

• Strong interpersonal skills and approachable manner.

• Focussed on producing results.
