Our client, a catalogue focused record label and music publisher, is seeking a Senior Revenue Assurance Analyst to handle income tracking activities and ensure royalty collections for Publishing, Recorded and Neighbouring Rights. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience within the music industry and knowledge of income tracking workflows.
Key responsibilities will include:
• Leading income tracking activities for UK and Sub publishing territories.
• Ensuring complete royalty collections (radio/tv, mechanical, streaming usage types) for publishing, Recorded music rights and Neighbouring rights.
• Supporting management with understanding earning expectations.
• Collaborating with finance, data and operations teams on data initiatives across the business.
• Applying music industry knowledge and understanding of royalty flows between DSPs, PROs, Labels, Publishers to ensure complete distributions by PROs and CMOs.
• Identifying gaps in royalty statements or usage reports, and providing claims of missing or underreported usages, using monitor data from suppliers.
• Liaising directly with collective rights management organisations, such as PRS, PPL, and data suppliers.
• Participating in industry groups and publishing association meetings.
• Developing controls and processes to ensure income statements are mapped and ingested in a timely and accurate manner.
• Implementing best in class tools to aid automation and scalability.
• Developing a monthly analysis and report around income completeness, red flags, and near terms expected earnings.
• Working with the finance team to ensure complete reconciliation to cash ledgers.
• Working with the in-house Data Engineer to create clear requirements for income data analytics.
• Applying technical expertise to make efficient processes and proactively find creative solutions to business challenges.
Requirements:
• Possess music industry experience and understanding of royalty flows between DSPs, PROs, Labels, and Publishers.
• Substantial industry experience with managing income tracking workflows and delivering commercial insights.
• Highly analytical with strong attention to detail.
• Able to identify gaps, using cross-validation of results, questioning plausibility and commitment to finding answers.
• Able to generate commercial insights when querying, analysing and manipulating large sets of data using analytical and BI tools (ideally SQL, Looker, Tableau).
• Able to articulate complex insights for management decision making using strong written and spoken communication skills.
• Organised and proactive approach, driven to produce results.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced changing environment.
